Leo and Max Across America

We had just finished a full day of photography at the Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho when we saw Max riding his bicycle along the side of the highway.

Max is a fifty-three year old man just like me, traveling across America ... only he is traveling on his bicycle and carrying all of his earthly possessions in a small child carrier behind him.

He left from Springfield, Missouri on Memorial Day with his dog, Max, on a journey to explore America's peaceful places by bike. Sadly, he and his longtime four-legged companion, Max were separated (unfortunately Max was "dognapped") a month ago and since then Leo has been on the road without him.

I invite you to get to know Leo a little better by watching our latest video, "Meet Leo at Craters of the Moon National Monument" and perusing Patsy's photos.

You can also see Patsy's latest pictures from Craters of the Moon National Monument; it is the only national monument that is officially described as being "a weird and scenic landscape" by President Calvin Coolidge when he dedicated it in 1924.
